TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Canadian Maritime Tour and the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo, June 29 – July 5, 2021, is organized by Cultural Crossroads LLC (hereafter listed as Cultural Crossroads). A tour director will accompany the group throughout the program. The total cost of the trip is $3998 USD per person based on double occupancy, which includes a $200 contribution to WNED/WBFO. The single supplement is $514 USD. A deposit of $1500 USD per person is due upon signup to reserve your place. The final payment (remaining balance) must be received no later than March 30, 2021. An NSF charge of $20 will apply to all returned checks.
Air Travel Arrangements
Flights are not included in the cost of the tour. Travelers can book their flights on their own, with their travel agent, or Cultural Crossroads can connect you to a travel agent who books flights for our tours. We ask that you do not book your flights until we have reached our minimum number of 20 travelers. We urge you to check airline cancellation penalties before purchasing airline tickets since departure times and flights can change. Tours also can be cancelled due to low enrollments. Cultural Crossroads accepts no liability for cancellation penalties related to airline tickets purchased independently, in conjunction with a tour. The group begins and ends in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Entry/Exit Requirements For U.S. Citizens
Travelers need a passport to travel to Canada. Passports should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry and must have enough blank space to allow for entry and exit stamps. Possession of a valid passport is the traveler’s responsibility. Cultural Crossroads is not responsible for lost, stolen or non-valid passports.
Reservation Procedure
You may register by email Carrie at Cultural Crossroads at [email protected]. She will email you the itinerary and registration forms. Please fill out the forms, sign and mail them to Cultural Crossroads, 20 Meadowcrest Lane, Barre, VT 05641. Your deposit check of $1500 USD per person must be made out to Cultural Crossroads and included with your registration. Registrations will be accepted in the order in which they are received. Payment by credit card can be made over the phone or we can send you an invoice by email.
Changes in the Itinerary
Cultural Crossroads reserves the right to alter the order of events or to make changes deemed necessary for the comfort, convenience and safety of the participants. Every effort will be made to adhere to the printed itinerary, but weather conditions, transportation difficulties or other circumstances beyond the control of Cultural Crossroads, and the local suppliers could force the cancellation or substitution of events or specific services.
A Note About Costs
Tour costs are based upon current tariffs, currency values, at the time of printing, and on the basis of a minimum number of 20 participants. While we will do everything possible to maintain the listed prices, they are subject to change. Should actual enrollments fall significantly below minimum numbers, a surcharge may be added, if the tour proceeds. Due to fluctuations in oil prices, a fuel surcharge may be added to your tour fee. If changes in currency fluctuate over 10% of the cost there could also be a price increase. If the HST (tax in Canada) increases above the included 15%, there would also be an increase. Participants will be notified of any price increases at least 30 days prior to departure. Please note: Should group members invite guests or friends to activities or meals with the group, any costs or charges incurred as a result of them joining the group are the responsibility of the client or individual travelers.
Unused Services and Refunds
No refund or adjustment can be made for any portion of the services not used such as voluntary non usage of hotel accommodations, scheduled meals or any planned activity described in the itinerary.
Single Rooms
Every effort will be made to help connect you to a traveler if you wish to share a room. If none is found, a single supplement will be charged. The number of single rooms is limited.
Photography/video
Participants on the tour may be photographed/videoed for the educational and promotional purposes of Cultural Crossroads and WNED/WBFO.
Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is highly recommended, though not mandatory. We suggest that travelers purchase travel insurance so they are covered in the event of any emergency that may force them to cancel the trip. Travelers can use any travel insurance provider they wish.
Mobility and Fitness to Travel
Please note that the tour requires that participants be in good physical condition and must be capable, without assistance, of walking a minimum of two to three miles over uneven terrain and of climbing stairs that may not have handrails. Participants should have sufficient stamina to keep pace with an active group of travelers on long days of touring.
Force Majeure
Cultural Crossroads shall not be held responsible for any delay or failure in performance of any part of this agreement to the extent that such delay or failure is caused by inter alia: fire; flood; lightning; explosion; war; strike; embargo; labor dispute; government requirement; civil or military requirement; act of God or nature; inability to secure goods or services; act or omission of carriers or suppliers; acts or failures to act of any governmental or competent authority; or any other causes beyond its reasonable control, whether or not similar to the foregoing; provided however that the traveler by reason of such cause shall not be relieved of its obligation to make any required payments that are due to Cultural Crossroads.
